Small-field Dosimetry of 6- and 10-MV Flattening Filter-free and Flattening Filter Photon Beams for Therapeutic Use

This investigation aimed to measure and commission small unflat photon beams using the detectors described in our previous study10. Furthermore, dosimetric parameters of small-field flat were compared provide a better interpretation beam energy spectrum. The TrueBeam linear accelerator (TrueBeam LINAC, Varian Medical Systems) was employed this study. 10 6 MV used output factor, depth dose, profile small-fields ranging size from 1 cm × cm. All measurements performed according TRS-483 protocols established by International Atomic Energy Agency. For both MV, factors significantly higher than beam. study found that penumbras slightly smaller for energies, which may improve tumor conformity reduce doses normal organs. had suface lower at leading considerably more degradation beams. findings work are consistent with previously published data, they will be useful future research LINAC commissioning.
